Energy conservation is the decision and practice of using less energy. Turning off the light when you leave the room, unplugging appliances when they’re not in use and walking instead of driving are all examples of energy conservation.
Energy Efficient Windows
Energy efficient windows are made of two or three glass panes sealed in a single unit, surrounded by a frame made from uPVC, wood, or another material. The gaps between the glass panes are filled with air, or an inert gas such as argon. The air or gas is completely sealed.
Velux Windows
VELUX is a Danish manufacturing company that specializes in roof windows and skylights. A roof window is an outward opening window that is incorporated as part of the design of a roof. Often confused with a skylight, a roof window differs in a few basic ways. A roof window is often a good option when there is a desire to allow both light and fresh air into the space. A roof window tends to be larger than a skylight, making it possible to enjoy a wider view of the sky overhead. In addition, skylights are usually stationary; that is, they cannot be opened and closed. With some designs of a roof window, it is possible to retract a portion of the glazed panes to allow in fresh air as well as enjoy the natural light.
Sash Windows
Sash Windows are windows consisting of two sliding panels (sashes). Sliding sash windows were very popular in the 1700s and 1800s, and millions of these windows are still in service today. Sliding sashes work well if maintained correctly, but many don’t work properly today due to needing minor repair or to having been improperly painted. Wrong painting technique is probably the number 1 cause of sash window defects.
Double Glazing Windows
Double glazed windows are composed of two panes of glass with air or inert gas in between to act as additional insulators. Insulating glass (IG) consists of two or more glass window panes separated by a vacuum or gas-filled space to reduce heat transfer across a part of the building envelope. A window with insulating glass is commonly known as a double glazing window.
