Glass

Glass is a non-crystalline amorphous solid, often translucent, that has widespread practical, technical, and decorative use in window panes, tableware, and optics, for example. Glass is most often formed by rapid cooling (quenching) of the molten form; some glasses such as volcanic glass are naturally occurring.

Glass Velux Windows

VELUX Glazing reduces outdoor noise even further and minimises the sound of rain and hail on the window. Made up of a laminated inner pane with sound insulation foils and a toughened external pane with sun protection coating and easy clean coating.

All VELUX glass units are AA fire rated. We recommend using laminated panes on all windows above head height. The inner glass in a laminated pane consists of two layers of ordinary float glass with a layer of plastic foil between. If the glass shatters, the shards are retained by the foil.

Glass Windows

A glass window is an opening in a wall, door, roof or vehicle that allows the passage of light and may also allow the passage of sound and sometimes air. Modern windows are usually glazed or covered in some other transparent or translucent material, a sash set in a frame in the opening; the sash and frame are also referred to as a window. Many glazed windows may be opened, to allow ventilation, or closed, to exclude inclement weather. Windows may have a latch or similar mechanism to lock the window shut or to hold it open by various amounts.

Glass Sash Windows

A glass sash window or hung sash window is made of one or more movable panels, or “sashes”. The individual sashes are traditionally paned windows, but can now contain an individual sheet (or sheets, in the case of double glazing) of glass.

Glass Double Glazing

A window with insulating glass is commonly known as double glazing. The glass used in a double glazed window for thermal insulation is called Low-E, or low-emissivity glass. This type of glass is the best for cold regions where a lot of energy is used to heat the house. Hence, this type of glass is energy efficient and will help reduce your heating bills.
