Plasterwork is construction or ornamentation done with plaster, such as a layer of plaster on an interior or exterior wall structure, or plaster decorative moldings on ceilings or walls. This is also sometimes called pargeting.

The biggest difference between plaster and render is the simple fact that plaster is applied to internal walls, and render to external surfaces. The ingredients that go into making render are cement, sand, and water. Often lime is often added to the mixture.

A plasterer is a contractor who works with plaster, such as making a coating of plaster on an inner wall or decorative mouldings of plaster on ceilings or walls. For decades, in building construction, the method of making plasterwork, called plastering, has been used.
